Australia Day 2018 lunch cruise
Celebrating all things Australian our classic motor yacht Silver Spirit was in the heart of the action for Australia Day 2018 on Sydney harbour.
Decorated in Australian flags and colours, she was a participant of the Australia Day harbour parade.
Our cruise started at 10.30am with 30 excited guests boarding at King Street Wharf in Darling harbour. After a short scenic tour, Captain Bradley positioned Silver Spirit with prime viewing under the harbour bridge.
Guests enjoyed watching the numerous displays on the harbour, from the ferry race to aerial displays from jets and A380’s.
With classic Australian food, from meat pies on arrival to laminations and Tim Tams for afternoon tea, our guests enjoyed an all inclusive day with tentative crew ensuring everyone is looked after and had their beverage of choice.
Midday onwards was cruising in the parade, Silver Spirit was one of 20 or so vessels participating the the Australia Day 2018 harbour parade. She along with other boats were decorated in a bid to win best dressed vessel. After winning the New Years Harbour or light parade’s best dressed vessel, the team were keen to win again. The competition was tough, and this year we came 4th. A fine effort from the crew, as this was their first attempt at decorating for the Australia Day Harbour Parade. We have lots of fresh ideas for our Australia Day Lunch cruise 2019 where we shall try again!
With only 30 guests onboard our Australia Day 2018 lunch cruise, they enjoyed the space and comfort of Silver Spirit. It was a very enjoyable day had by all.
With tripadvisor reviews already coming in giving us glowing feedback, we are very excited for our 2019 Australia Day lunch cruise.
Have any ideas on how to decorate Silver Spirit next year? We would love to hear your thoughts. Leave a comment or get in touch.
Until next time, safe cruising.
